In the current PNP draw result, Canada’s four provinces, including British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and New Brunswick, sent invitations to the candidates.

The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is the most popular immigration pathway in Canada. As per the Immigration Levels Plan 2023-25, Canada is seeking to admit around 117,500 new PRs via the PNP annually by the end of the year 2025.

Although IRCC is the final decision maker on Permanent Residency, the PNP can persist as both federal and provincial governments share the responsibility of immigration to the country.

PNP is a valuable pathway for both governments, enabling them to strengthen the country’s economy. Following the program, the provinces can select the newcomers as well as fill the target gaps in the provincial labor force, which enables them to become economically established.

It’s notable that the total number of candidates a province can nominate modifies annually.

This year PNP targets around 105,000 candidates. Except for Quebec and Nunavut, which do not have the PNPs, this total number is divided among the 11 provinces and territories with PNP.

For instance, Ontario has been allocated around 16,500 PNP spots this year. Newfoundland and Labrador recently declared the province has an allotment of 3,050, nearly double that of the previous year.

Weekly Provincial immigration results from April 29-May 5

Here are the weekly PNP immigration results of four provinces from April 29-May 5.

British Columbia

British Columbia invited over 171 candidates on May 2 via the BC PNP.

BC organized four separate draws, three targeted and one general, to invite the candidates.

In the general draw, candidates with a minimum cut-off score of 104 (skilled workers) or 107 (international graduates) from the skilled Worker and International Graduate Stream (including EE candidates) were invited to apply. Candidates with a minimum score of 85 in the Entry-Level and Semei-Skilled streams might also be invited in the general draw.

In the targeted draws, 60 was the minimum cut-off score for all three draws. Around 22 candidates were invited for the early childhood teachers and assistants, 16 candidates from the healthcare field, and less than five from the other priority disciplines.

Note that the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled candidates were not included in the targeted draws.

Saskatchewan

Two separate draws were organized by Saskatchewan on May 3, in which 1032 candidates were invited.

Around 739 candidates out of 1032 were invited via the Express Entry stream of the SNIP, and the rest, 293 candidates, via the Occupations-In-Demand stream.

Candidates must have a minimum score of 68 and an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) in order to receive the invitation in both streams.

New Brunswick

The province of New Brunswick has announced the April results of the PNP draw. Normally, it invites the candidates throughout the month and announces all the results simultaneously.

New Brunswick invited a total of 86 candidates in April via the Express Entry stream of NB PNP. 45 candidates were invited in the NB Employment Connection, 27 candidates in the NB Student Connection, and the rest 14 candidates from the NB Occupations in Demand Connection.

Within 45 days, candidates with an ITA can submit a detailed application.

Once the province approves the application for nomination, candidates can accept the nomination within 30 days in their Federal Express Entry account.

Manitoba

Under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), Manitoba issued 539 Letters of Advice to Apply on May 4. The draws were organized in the three streams.

In an Occupation-specific draw, 252 candidates under the Skilled Worker stream were invited with a minimum score of 606.

The following major occupations were considered, along with the number of candidates:

  • 12 candidates under administrative and financial supervisors & specialized administrative occupations
  • 22 candidates in technical fields associated with natural & applied sciences
  • 70 candidates under middle management work in trades & transportation.

Additionally, in a non-occupation-specific draw, 199 Skilled Workers also received a Letter of Advice to Apply with a least 650 score. In the other two streams, 39 candidates were invited via the International Education Stream. And the remaining 49 candidates with a minimum score of 699 received Letters of Advice to Apply via the Skilled Workers Overseas stream.
