Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, Manitoba, and PEI recently sent ITAs to candidates under the Provincial Nominee Programs. Discover the latest PNP draw results of five provinces, the number of candidates invited, and the minimum cut-off score of each province.

In Canada, nearly all provinces and territories, except for Quebec and Nunavut, operate their provincial immigration programs to nominate potential candidates. These programs authorize the provincial government to select the candidates who, according to them, can easily incorporate into the regional economy.

Obtaining a provincial nomination strengthens the application of a candidate for permanent residency.

The province of Quebec operates its regional immigration on its own. This is possible as it has a unique agreement with Canada’s national government. This agreement gives the province complete autonomy over choosing its economic immigrants.

However, it’s notable that IRCC is the final decision maker concerning the selection of permanent residents to the province who secure a Quebec Selection Certificate.

Recent Minister’s Meeting and Topics of Discussion

Canadian immigration department, named Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), collaborates with the provincial governments to manage immigration.

Recently, Canadian Immigration Minister Mr. Marc Miller and the provincial representatives convened to discuss the common goals. Usually, gatherings like these occur twice every year. This helps the IRCC department understand and determine the way it can utilize immigration effectively and encourage the economic health of Canadian provinces that operate PNP.

This year’s recent meeting occurred on November 18, where the ministers discussed various significant matters. The major topics of discussion are as follows:

  • Minimizing the repetition of federal-provincial economic class immigration programs;
  • Cutting down application processing times;
  • Lessening the obstacles and facilitating foreign credential recognition;
  • Exploring ways to collaborate and address infrastructure, social services, and housing pressures; and
  • Harmonizing work permits with provincial as well as territorial labor market needs.
