Three Canadian provinces, including Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba, have invited potential candidates this week under the Provincial Nominee Program. Discover the latest PNP Invitation Results and the targeted streams and cut-off score for each draw.

Outline of PNP Draws

The Provincial Nominee Program, or PNP, is one of the leading immigration pathways in Canada in which provinces nominate potential candidates.

Canadian provinces are permitted to choose the candidates for regional economic immigration. Provinces select individuals who have the potential to strengthen the regional economy and local force and who can easily integrate into the province. This is possible as federal and provincial governments share the immigration responsibility.

The provincial nomination makes the PR application of a candidate much stronger when they apply to IRCC through EE. This is because they get an additional 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System, which increases the possibility of receiving an ITA for Permanent Residence.

Under immigration targets, the Canadian government assigns a specific number of nominations to each province to invite candidates under PNP.

The total number of nominations depends on several factors, like available settlement services for new immigrants, provincial population, regional economy, and more.

Almost all Canadian provinces, as well as territories, have PNPs, other than Nunavut and Quebec.

The Quebec government has signed a special agreement with the Canadian government, which authorizes it to select all economic immigrants as per its own choice. The federal government does not allocate total nominations to it.

Latest PNP Invitation Results  December 2-8

This section will cover the weekly draws held in three Canadian provinces. The nominating provinces include Ontario, British Columbia, and Manitoba. It highlights the latest PNP Invitation Results between December 2 and 8, including the targeted streams, number of candidates nominated, and cut-off score.

Ontario

Last week, three separate PNP draws took place in Ontario. The province targeted candidates in the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program’s (OINP’s) Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream.

All three draws focused on different attributes, even though all candidates were from the same streams.

In the largest draw, Ontario sent nominations to 1,663 candidates skilled in healthcare and STEM occupations. The minimum required score for this draw was 43.

The second draw targeted candidates in the skilled trades professions. A total of 761 candidates who had a minimum score of 34 were considered in this draw.

In the third draw, Ontario invited 13 candidates from the Economic Mobility Pathways Project (EMPP). EMPP is a valuable immigration pathway for skilled refugees and other displaced people to move to Canada. For this draw, there was no cut-off score.

British Columbia

On December 5, British Columbia conducted four targeted draws.

Through Its PNP called BC PNP, the province invited 193 Skilled Workers and International Graduate Candidates.

In the largest draw, BC nominated 92 candidates from the tech occupations. To be eligible for this draw, they required a minimum Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) score of 94.

Additionally, British Columbia sent invitations to 46 candidates who were early childhood educators and assistants and 24 candidates from the healthcare sector. For both the draw, the minimum required score was 60.

Finally, in the last draw, the province invited 31 candidates from the Construction sector. Candidates required a cut-off score of 75 to be considered in this draw.

Manitoba

Manitoba held a draw on December 4 under its PNP called the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The province invited a total of 117 candidates from Ukraine. This was done under the special immigration measure to help individuals affected by the ongoing crises in Ukraine.

In this draw, Manitoba sent invitations to candidates if they met the following criteria. They must

  • Be a Ukraine Citizen;
  • Had a minimum score of 60 as per the MPNP assessment criteria
  • Be taken an approved language exam;
  • Had a pre-existing relationship with Manitoba
  • Had at least a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 4 in each language category; and
  • Be able to meet all other requirements of the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway, including acceptable settlement funds.
