Provincial Immigration Results From July 27th To August 2nd

Two provinces in Canada held Provincial Nominee Program Draws. Here are the results for the same.

1. British Columbia

British Columbia held a targeted draw through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program this week.

The province invited at least 147 applicants through the Skilled Worker, Internal Graduate (includes EEBC option) stream. Moreover, applicants invited in this draw were picked for their education and ability to fill gaps in the province’s labor market.

Cut-off scores varied between industries targeted within the draw. These were as follows:

  • Childcare: A Minimum score of 89 was required (33 invites issued)
  • Construction: A Minimum score of 90 was needed (27 invites issued)
  • Healthcare: A Minimum score of 101 was required (22 invites issued)
  • Tech Workers: A Minimum score of 120 was needed (64 invites issued)
  • Veterinary Care: A Minimum score of 80 was needed (at least one invite issued)

The Skilled Worker category is designed for international workers with post-secondary education or training and relevant experience in professional, management, trade, technical, or other professional occupations in the province. Also, the applicant’s job must be classified under the National Occupational Classification Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities matrix as skill level 0, 1, or 2.

Moreover, applicants applying under the Skilled Worker category need to have a full-time permanent job/ employment offer in a skilled profession from the province’s employer. Suppose the employment offer is in a regulated profession requiring mandatory certification or licensing. In that case, applicants must prove they meet the provincial requirements for that specific profession at the time of their application. Paid co-op work placements are accepted as new work experience if they were full-time and at an NOC level equal to or greater than that of the job offer.

2. Manitoba

Two provinces in Canada held Provincial Nominee Program draws, wherein Manitoba was the second.

This week, Manitoba PNP held two immigration draws for skilled workers.

The first draw occurred under an occupation-specific selection under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. In addition, over 145 invitations were issued to individuals whose NOC corresponded to 44101—Home support workers, caregivers, and related professions or who fit under the broad occupation category ‘3’ (healthcare professions).

The MPNP held another draw under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream on the same day. Under this stream, 58 invitations were issued to applicants with a minimum score of 724. Moreover, to be considered in this draw, applicants needed to be invited by the MPNP under a ‘Strategic Recruitment Initiative’.

Of the 203 invitations issued by MPNP, over 29 were issued to individuals who declared a valid Express Entry profile.
