British Columbia and Ontario issued more provincial nominations for skilled workers. Applicants were invited to two separate draws for their professional experience within in-demand sectors of the Canadian economy or a combination of their skilled work experience and language abilities in English and French. 

Note: Each Provincial Nominee Program uses its own scoring system to rank applicant’s eligibility for immigration. These scores shouldn’t be compared across different PNPs. 

Provincial Immigration Results: September 21st to 27th 

British Columbia and Ontario issued more provincial nominations for skilled workers. Below are the results for the same!

1. British Columbia 

On September 24, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program invited a total of 146 applicants via the Skilled Worker, International Graduate stream. Applicants were invited for their professional experience in in-demand positions in the province. Cut-off scores, as well as the number of initiations issued to applicants, varied based on their professional experience. They were as follows: 

The Skilled Worker, International Graduate stream offers recent graduates from eligible Canadian post-secondary institutions a pathway to permanent residence in British Columbia. In order to be eligible, applicants should have completed a degree, diploma, or certificate in the past three years. The job should fall under a NOC Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities (TEER) category 1, 2, or 3. 

Candidates should also meet language requirements, have a wage offer consistent with British Columbia standards, be qualified for the position, and demonstrate financial self-sufficiency. 

The International Graduate Stream also features an EEBC option, thus making it an enhanced provincial immigration stream. Moreover, enhanced provincial pathways are aligned with Canada’s federal Express Entry system. They also allow applicants in the federal pool the opportunity to obtain a nomination from a province, yielding an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System score points. 

2. Ontario 

On September 26, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program issued 243 NOIs to applicants via the French-speaking Skilled Worker stream. Applicants required a CRS score between 290 and 445 to be invited. 

In addition, the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream enables eligible foreign workers with the necessary skilled work experience, language proficiency, and education a chance to be nominated for permanent residency in Canada by the Ontario provincial government. In order to be eligible, candidates should have a valid profile in the Express Entry system. They must also obtain an NOI from Ontario before applying online for nomination. Note that this stream is enhanced, implying that it is aligned with the Express Entry system.
