Three Canadian Provinces Issued ITAs To Applicants
Three Canadian provinces issued ITAs to applicants for their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) this week.
The PNP was introduced in 1998 to spread the benefits of immigration across Canada. It does so by sharing responsibility for immigration between the federal government, provinces, and territories.
Presently, it is one of the leading ways to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker.
Being nominated by a province does not grant permanent resident status. Applicants nominated by a province still have to go through IRCC.
However, it does help strengthen an applicant’s application. Express Entry applicants obtaining a provincial nomination obtain an additional 600 CRS points, almost guaranteeing an ITA in an upcoming Express Entry draw.
