U.S. News conducted an analysis to determine the 2023 best country worldwide, and Canada ranked as the second-best country worldwide.  

The jump to the second position is a significant improvement from last year, as Canada was ranked third by the U.S. News that year.  

The U.S. News considered ten different sub-categories to determine these rankings, where they placed the top twenty countries in each category before ranking 87 Countries in their whole ranking.

In four of the ten sub-categories, Canada was ranked among the top five countries by the U.S. News. The following are the four sub-categories: 

1. Canada ranked fifth for Entrepreneurship. The countries ahead of Canada were the United States (U.S.), Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom (U.K.) 

2. Canada ranked third for the Quality of Life. The countries ahead of Canada were Sweden and Norway.
