The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
Canadian provinces use the PNP to identify and choose economic immigration candidates who most probably incorporate into the local workforce easily.
The provinces follow two approaches in order to select the potential candidates. First, the federal Express Entry application pool; second, candidates’ applications that they submitted directly to the provinces.
The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is available because immigration is a joint responsibility of both federal as well as provincial governments in Canada. The federal government specifies the total number of nominations to each province every year, suggesting how many candidates they can nominate to their province that year, except for Quebec and Nunavut. These both do not have PNP.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) aims to welcome around 105,550 New permanent residents by the end of this year via the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
