In the latest draw results, Canada’s four provinces, including Ontario, British Columbia, Quebec, and Prince Edward, have invited Candidates for provincial immigration.

Besides the PNP-only Express Entry draws of May 10, these are the additional draws.

This draw was the fourth Provincial Nominee Program-Only Express Entry Draw of 2023, in which 589 PNP candidates with a minimum CRS score of 691 were invited.

The Canadian government introduced the PNP in 1998 to support provinces in attracting economic immigrants who can effortlessly and economically settle within the province.

The aim of the program was to evenly distribute immigration benefits across the country rather than keeping it confined to major cities.

Except for Quebec and Nunavut, all the provinces and territories in Canada have a PNP.

Note that Quebec has a distinct agreement with the Federal government that enable it to invite all economic immigrants to establish within the province.

Although Quebec has the authority to decide all its economic immigrants, Candidates with Quebec Selection Certificate are needed to submit an application to IRCC if they want to obtain a Canadian Permanent residency.

British Columbia

On May 9, British Columbia organized four targeted draws for the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams and invited over 150 candidates. The draw also included the EE candidates.

The largest draw targeted the tech occupations and invited 93 candidates with a minimum score of 90 in the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). For BC PNP, the SIRS score is comparable to the CRS score.

The other draw required a minimum SIRS score of 60 and invited the remaining candidates among the 150. Thirty-four candidates were early childhood teachers, 23 candidates were from healthcare jobs, and less than five were from other priority jobs.

Prince Edward Island
