Canadian immigration department, named Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada or IRCC, has recently released the latest all-program draw result.
The department has sent 1,325 invitations to apply (ITAs) to potential candidates in this latest Expres Entry draw. The minimum required Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 542, which candidates needed to qualify for this draw.
Express Entry Draws Before this Latest All-Program Draw Result
This latest all-program draw result comes after IRCC’s most recent Express Entry Draw on December 8. In that draw, IRCC invited 5,900 Candidates skilled in STEM occupations. This draw’s minimum required CRS score was 481.
An EE draw also occurred on December 7, in which 1,000 individuals who were proficient in the French language received invitations. Candidates needed a minimum score of 470 to receive ITA.
In addition, another draw took place on December 6. That was an all-program draw where 4750 candidates received ITA who had a score of 561.
These were the three consecutive Express Entry draws after over a month. Before these draws, IRCC held a category-based selection draw on October 26, targeting healthcare occupations.
This was the temporary pause in the Express Entry Draw, and IRCC did not verify any reason for this. However, the Department on November 14 tweeted to announce that there was an IT problem with the Express Entry profile builder. The issue prevented the candidates with an ITA from uploading their final application to IRCC’s website.
Later, on November 16, IRCC retweeted and declared that it had resolved the issues. Still, the Express Entry draws were not resumed immediately as expected.
Generally, there are various potential reasons the department might delay holding an Express Entry draw. For instance, if the department is already about to meet its immigration target for admitting Express Entry candidates, IT glitches, Changes to the Comprehensive Ranking System, staffing changes, and more.

Understanding Canada’s Express Entry System
Express Entry in Canada is an application management system that allows economic candidates worldwide to immigrate to the country.
The system offers three major economic programs for immigration. These are:
- The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP);
- The Canadian Experience Class (CEC); and
- The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
To assess the interested candidates, the Express Entry System has a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The CRS system considers various human capital factors to evaluate candidates and assigns a score.
The factors include language ability, Work experience, age, education, and profession. Candidates with the highest CRS score are most likely to secure an ITA for Canadian permanent residence in the future Express Entry Draw.
After securing an Invitation To Apply (ITAs), candidates can apply to the IRCC. For processing an Express Entry application, IRCC has a service standard of six months. It then issues its final decision on the candidate’s application.
Canada’s Category-Based Selection Draws
Canada announced the launch of new category-based selection draws for Express Entry candidates this May.
The new draws are a part of Canada’s Express Entry. IRCC invites candidates with a specific, in-demand attribute who can support Canada’s workforce and economy through these draws.
Canada has selected six categories to target in these draws—among these, one category targets Express Entry candidates with French language abilities.
The other five categories target Express Entry candidates with work experience in the field that is presently undergoing labor market shortages in Canada. These sectors are:
- Healthcare;
- Agriculture/ agri-food
- Trades;
- STEM professions; and
- Transport.
It’s notable that the invitation to apply (ITAs) sent during the category-based Express Entry draws will count in the Express Entry Federal High-Skilled Workers targets in the Immigration Levels Plan.
Canada has a plan to accept nearly 114,000 new permanent residents every year via the Express Entry Draws over the next three years.
