Two Canadian provinces recently nominated potential candidates under their regional nomination programs. The two nominating provinces include British Columbia and Manitoba. Provinces targeted skilled worker streams to issue invitations to apply (ITAs) to immigration candidates. Discover the latest PNP draw results for British Columbia and Manitoba and the eligibility criteria and targeted streams.

Latest PNP Draw Results for British Columbia and Manitoba (3-10 May)

Canada’s PNPs for each province have their eligibility criteria and distinct methods for assigning candidates’ scores. As a result, the cut-off scores for one province’s PNP draw should not be compared to other PNP draws.

Some Canadian provinces use different terms for invitations to apply (ITAs), such as “Letters of Advice to Apply” or “Notifications of Interest.” However, all have the same meaning.

In these draws, provinces considered candidates through different streams, targeting skilled workers who are skilled in in-demand fields, have an employment offer from the province, or have previously studied in the nominating province. More details about draws are mentioned below.

British Columbia

British Columbia issued 77 invitations to apply to skilled candidates in different streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). These include the Skilled Worker, and International Graduate streams, including the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option stream.

To be eligible, candidates must have eligible professional experience in in-demand sectors targeted under the BCPNP. These specifically include professions like childcare, healthcare, veterinary care, construction, and tech.

For each draw targetting a profession, the cut-off score varied and is mentioned below:

  • Childcare draw: 90 cut-off score;
  • Construction draws: 93 cut-off score;
  • Healthcare draw: 100 cut-off score;
  • Tech draw: 120 cut-off scores; and
  • Veterinary care draws 80 cut-off score.

In particular, the International Graduate stream with the EEBC option targeted candidates who have completed their graduation from an eligible Canadian university or college within the previous three years.

To be eligible for this stream, candidates must have acquired a job offer from a British Columbia employer.

The EEBC options mean that this stream is an enhanced PNP stream that works with the federal Express Entry system. This implies that through this stream, the province can invite eligible candidates from the Express Entry pool for immigration.

Manitoba

The province of Manitoba also released its PNP draw results recently. Under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), the province issued around 371 invitations to potential candidates.

Manitoba targeted candidates from three different streams and occupation-specific draws, in total, four draws.

In the first occupation-specific draw, Manitoba targeted candidates with current employment in in-demand occupations in the province.

In this draw, 18 ITAs were sent to candidates with professional experience in occupations that correspond to the following National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes:

  • 72024 – Motor transport and other ground transit operators and supervisors; and
  • 73301 – Bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit operators.

The NOC system in Canada is a national system for classifying and defining jobs in the country’s labor market.

Manitoba’s second draw was an all-program selection draw that targeted candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. The stream includes the Manitoba Work Experience and Employer Direct Recruitment pathways. The province issued 242 invitations in this draw. To be eligible for the invitations under this draw, candidates needed a minimum score of 836.

Candidates from the International Education Stream received invitations in Manitoba’s third draw. The province issued around 76 invitations to candidates from Manitoba schools who could best address the province’s labor market needs.

This Manitoba stream includes various pathways, such as the Career Employment pathway, the International Student Entrepreneur pathway, and the Graduate Internship pathway.

In its last draw, the province targeted the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. Manitoba invited 35 candidates who have a minimum cut-off score of 698.

Notably, Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Overseas stream allows foreign candidates with in-demand skills and professional experience to immigrate to and settle in the province. It includes the Manitoba Express Entry pathway and the Human Capital pathway.

66 of the 371 candidates who received an invitation to apply from Manitoba have a job seeker validation code and valid Express Entry profile.
