Latest Provincial Immigration Results: Manitoba and British Columbia Issued Nominations
The following section will provide results for two provinces, namely British Columbia and Manitoba.
British Columbia
The province of British Columbia (BC) has held its latest draws under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP). The province nominated 88 ITAs to candidates to apply for permanent residence. Candidates from the Skilled Worker International Graduate stream, including the Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option, received invitations.
The stream is dedicated to international students who graduated from a university or college within the province within the past three years. To receive an invitation to apply, students must have a valid job offer from an employer and professional experience in in-demand jobs in the province.
In particular, the in-demand professions in British Columbia included the following:
- Childcare professionals. Candidates must have a minimum score of 90 to be invited;
- Construction professionals. Candidates required a minimum score of 95 to be invited;
- Healthcare professionals. Candidates needed a minimum score of 95;
- Tech professionals. Candidates required a minimum score of 116; and
- Veterinary care professionals. Candidates needed a minimum score of 80.
EEBC option here indicates that this is an enhanced provincial nomination stream.
Notably, enhanced streams are aligned with the Express Entry management system. This means that a province may invite individuals within the Express Entry pool through these streams to apply for PR.
Manitoba
The province of Manitoba invited PNP candidates under its PNP, called the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). The province issued over 350 invitations to candidates under its different streams.
Manitoba invited 276 candidates working within in-demand occupations in the province through its Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Occupation-specific selection stream. It’s a part of the Manitoba Work Experience pathway.
In particular, the province considered individuals who worked under the given National Occupation Classifications (NOC):
- 33102—Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates;
- 60020—Retail and wholesale trade managers; and
- Group 731—Workers in general construction trades.
In Canada, the NOC system is a standardized method to categorize occupations.
Besides this, Manaitoba also sent 87 invitations to eligible candidates under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. To be eligible for this draw, candidates must have at least a 691 score. Also, they must demonstrate that they received an invitation from MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
It is evident that they both are enhanced streams. 81 of the 363 invitations issued under these two programs went to candidates with a valid Express Entry profile.
So, this was all about the latest PNP draw results of Manitoba and British Columbia.
