Provincial Immigration Results: August 31 – September 6
Ontario and British Columbia nominate PNP applicants. Below are the results for the same.
1. Ontario
On September 5, the OINP held a draw through the French-Speaking Skilled Workers stream. The province issued over 96 Notifications of Interest to applicants who had a Comprehensive Ranking System score between 290 and 393.
The French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream is for French-speaking skilled workers who wish to settle in Ontario. In order to be eligible, applicants must qualify for the federal Express Entry pool via the Federal Skilled Worker Program or Canadian Experience Class. Also, they must meet specific work experience and language proficiency requirements, hold a recognized degree, intend to reside in Ontario, and showcase sufficient settlement funds. In addition, applicants cannot directly apply and should have obtained a Notification of Interest Ontario in order to proceed with their permanent residency application to IRCC.
2. British Columbia
The BC PNP held two provincial nominee draws on September 4 through several different streams.
The first draw was general selection across the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled streams. The draw issued 75 invitations to applicants with a minimum score of 128, with the exception of the Entry and Semi-Skilled stream, which required a minimum score of 110.
The second draw was a targeted selection for applicants with work experience in critical sectors of the British Columbia economy through the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams. The breakdown of this draw is as follows:
- Childcare Professions: 31 applicants with a minimum score of 83
- Childcare Professions: 33 applicants with a minimum score of 89
- Childcare Professions: 19 applicants with a minimum score of 99
- Childcare Professions: At least one applicant with a minimum score of 80
Closure Of The Saskatchewan Hard-To-Fill Skills Pilot
Effective August 30, 2024, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has permanently closed the Hard-to-Fill Skills Pilot. No new applications or job approval forms will be accepted after this date. However, any applications submitted with a valid Candidate-Specific Job Approval Letter will still be processed to completion.
The closure aims to streamline immigration pathways and enhance settlement outcomes. Other program categories under the SINP remain open, and alternative pathways are available for potential applicants.
Also, the SINP will host information sessions on alternative options on September 6 and 11, 2024. Further assistance and details on this change are available via email or the SINP’s contact channels.
