Canada’s three provinces, Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia, invited PNP candidates in the latest nomination round.

Provinces issued notifications of interest to candidates who they believe can support them in addressing their urgent needs.

Every Canadian province except Nunavut and Quebec has its own provincial immigration programs. These nominations enable governments to select and admit economic candidates to strengthen their regional economy.

The PNP or Provincial Nominee Program is an easy pathway to Canadian permanent residency. It was introduced in 1998 to enable the government to distribute economic immigration benefits across Canada rather than only a few significant centers like Toronto or Vancouver.

Each province’s PNPs have several immigration streams to admit a range of candidates. Candidates are selected based on different eligibility criteria, like having a provincial job offer, work experience in a specific field, or a program specific for international students.

Latest PNP Draws Result: Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia invited PNP candidates between 20-26 April.

Ontario

Ontario sent 209 Expression of Interest (EOI) to potential candidates using its Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The province considered candidates from the Employer Job Offer, Foreign Worker Stream, who had a minimum score of 53. Manitoba invited candidates skilled in trades occupations. Since January 9, this was the first such draw. In that draw, Ontario sent invitations to 630 candidates.

Manitoba

The province of Manitoba held its PNP draws on April 24 using its Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). Around 327 candidates received invitations to apply.

The province sent invitations to candidates in three different streams, comprising 203 candidates under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. These candidates must have completed their post-secondary education in the province and have a minimum score of 81.

In addition, the province invited 66 candidates from the International Education stream. The CRS score for this draw remains unknown and candidates under this stream need to qualify. Furthermore, Manitoba considered 58 candidates with 644 CRS scores from the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. These invitations were sent as a part of a strategic recruitment initiative.

British Columbia

British Columbia’s regional immigration program is called the BC PNP or the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.

Recently, the province held a small draw for 86 candidates on April 23 from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate streams. This also included candidates from Express Entry BC.

British Columbia conducted five draws targeting specific occupations. In its largest draw, BC sent invitations to 45 candidates with a CRS score of 120 skilled in tech occupations.

In the next draw, it invited 19 candidates from the healthcare sector who had a CRS score of 95.

Moreover, in another draw, 11 candidates received invitations with skills in both childcare and construction fields. Childcare workers needed 92 and the construction workers needed a 95 CRS score to be eligible for the ITA.

Finally, in the veterinary occupations, BC considered less than five candidates, with a CRS score of 85.
