Four Canadian provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island, issued invitations for provincial nomination in the recent PNP draw.

In Canada, immigration is the shared responsibility of the federal and provincial governments, and the Provincial Nominee Program, or PNP, is considered a valuable pathway for distributing the economic benefits of immigration to places outside the major urban centres throughout the country.

Provincial governments employ PNP to nominate candidates who they believe are most suitable to economically establish and integrate into the province nominating them. For a candidate with a PNP invitation, it’s typically easier to obtain permanent residency in the country.

However, it’s noteworthy that receiving a provincial nomination is not a guarantee of becoming a permanent resident. Candidates still need to apply for permanent residency separately to the IRCC.
