This week, three Canadian provinces issued provincial nominations to applicants. Applicants were invited via specific PNP streams based on their past work experience, professional skills, and education. In addition, an immigration stream is a way to permanent residency, which can contain sub-streams and often targets a specific aspect of an applicant’s profile.

Every Provincial Nominee Program uses its own scoring system to rank applicants’ eligibility for immigration. Moreover, these scores shouldn’t be compared across different PNPs.

In addition, certain PNP streams are ‘enhanced’. This implies that they align with the federal government’s Express Entry system, which considers applicants in the federal immigration pool.

Also, applicants in the Express Entry pool who obtain a nomination certificate from a PNP can earn an extra 600 CRS points, which almost guarantees them an invitation to apply via Express Entry.

PNP Results: August 10 – August 16

Three Canadian provinces issued provincial nominations to applicants. Here are the results!

1. Ontario

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program held two draws this week via the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker Stream.

The first draw took place on August 13, inviting over 420 applicants who had job offers in a selected healthcare profession. Moreover, according to the OINP scoring system, a minimum score of 50 was required.

Similarly, on the same day, the OINP invited around 958 applicants who had job offers in other in-demand positions, and a minimum score of 54.

2. British Columbia

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program held four targeted draws this week via the Skilled Worker and International Graduate (including the Express Entry British Columbia option) stream. In addition, applicants with skills in in-demand positions were invited across five different sectors of the economy.

Furthermore, in total, a minimum of 135 applicants were invited through these draws, with varying cut-off scores for every targeted draw. These were as follows:

3. Manitoba

Three Canadian provinces issued provincial nominations to applicants, out of which Manitoba was the last.

On August 15, the Manitoba PNP held two draws. The first draw was held under the International Education Stream, and 252 applicants who met the eligibility requirements were invited. These included having a master’s or doctoral degree from a Manitoba school in the past three years and meeting a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 7. Also, no cut-off score was declared for this draw.

On the same day, the MPNP held another draw under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, inviting over 40 applicants under a ‘strategic recruitment initiative’ undertaken by the MPNP. In addition to meeting eligibility requirements, applicants required a minimum score of 703 under the MPNP scoring system.

Also, of the 292 applications that obtained an ITA, 37 were issued to applicants who declared a valid Express Entry profile.
